Orchestra visit strikes a chord with schoolchildren

A live orchestra hit the right note as they performed for children at Charles Darwin Primary.
Musicians from Norfolk Music Hub visited the school for a live concert and workshop on Wednesday, May 15.
They took the children on a musical trip around the world, performing pieces from a traditional British hornpipe to the French nursery rhyme Frere Jacques, German composer Handel’s Water Music, and the Flower Duet from Delibes’ Indian-inspired opera Lakme.
Along the way the musicians introduced the children to their instruments, including the violin, trumpet, cello, saxophone, and bassoon.
The visit was organised by Inspiration Trust director of music John Stephens as part of Norfolk Music Hub’s Live Music Week, which visits schools to inspire young people to get involved in music.
